Extending Thought Leadership After an International Conference
In March 2012 the British Council’s Our Shared Future project hosted an invitation-only conference for members of our network, which I helped organize. Each of the 50 participants was invited to contribute a short opinion piece on the themes of the conference. Because the Our Shared Future project aims to share expert opinion with a broader audience, I proposed publishing the conference papers.
The submissions were collected in a series of four short e-books, Building a Shared Future, released free of charge via the iTunes store and in multiple formats on our website. I compiled each volume, edited the front-of-book matter, liaised with the designer, and promoted the published books.
The e-books were downloaded approximately 2,000 times in the first six months and were publicized in an op-ed in the Huffington Post, which I ghost-wrote.
